Institutions

Institutional occupancies are characterized by the fact that a portion of the building occupants are not capable of taking emergency action for their own safety.  Special fire safety considerations are needed to provide prompt detection of fire and to permit sufficient time to relocate people to safety.

Services provided by PLC for institutional clients include life safety studies, equivalency evaluations for code compliance, and fire modeling to define life safety hazards.  We have also been involved in providing cost effective solutions for institutional occupancies including: fire detection systems, smoke control, sprinkler systems and special hazard protection.
