Senior Fire Protection Engineer
Responsible for delivering quality engineering services, ensuring project timelines are met and developing junior resources.
Role Description
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Degree in engineering (Fire Protection preferred) or equivalent.
Qualifications
- 8 years of fire protection engineering consulting experience.
- Eligibility for, or current member of a professional engineering association or equivalent.
- Active member of fire protection or other industry based (e.g. nuclear, oil & gas) professional networks.
- Project Management experience that demonstrates ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Well developed technical report writing, test analysis, problem resolution, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Technologists:
- Minimum of community college technology diploma in the Fire Protection Discipline or related industry.
- 5-10 years experience in the fire protection industry, including fire modeling; fire and explosion quantitative risk assessment; fire protection code compliance service; performance based fire protection design; and, fire safety audits.
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD (2D drafting, customization, 3D modeling).
- Knowledge of MS Windows & Office environment.
- Good work ethic and desire to learn.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Engineers:
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick or Ontario. Qualifications and good standing as a Professional Engineer in another jurisdiction would also be considered.
- Minimum of a degree in engineering and 5-10 years of broad based fire protection experience, including experience in the nuclear, petrochemical and semiconductor fields. In addition to project execution, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring of less experienced technical staff .
- With a proven background, the successful candidate will have expertise in: fire modeling; fire and explosion quantitative risk assessment; fire protection code compliance service; performance based fire protection design; and, fire safety audits.
- Knowledge of MS Windows & Office environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
