Research & Testing

PLC has been involved in a number of applied research projects.  These projects have generally been initiated to help quantify an identified fire hazard, develop predictive type hazard evaluation tools or test effectiveness of protection options.  For these projects, PLC has helped clients select a test agency to conduct specific test programs, has coordinated that need with the test agency and helped interpret test results.  Fire test programs coordinated by PLC have involved both bench scale and full scale tests.  Full scale tests have involved compartments up to 5m x 5m x 2m high.  Research programs have also included development of fire models for unique fire problems.
