SPECIAL EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS
Because of the many hazards encountered, situations arise where water may not be an effective extinguishing medium or where automatic sprinklers may need to be supplemented with other types of fire suppression systems. For those situations, special extinguishing systems are needed. Types of special extinguishing systems include, but are not limited to:
- Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Systems
- Dry Chemical Systems
- Condensed Aerosol Fire Extinguishing Systems
PLC has the expertise to design cost-effective special extinguishing systems that match the hazard with the appropriate level of protection. PLC can provide the design, including the preparation of specifications and design drawings, for special extinguishing systems and for their associated fire detection/actuation systems. Services include preparation of tender documents for systems installation plus project management and contract administration.
PLC also has expertise in the inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of special extinguishing systems and can aid clients in developing and improving upon their ITM programs.
